One of my absolute favorite songs of Momoclo along with Hai to Daiyamondo
This version is from their National Olympic Stadium day 2 concert
——
Song composed by Narasaki, with lyrics by Natsumi Tadano
Besides direct tribute to Black Sabbath’s “Sweet Leaf”, “Crazy Train” and “Sabbra Cadabra”, there are a few points in the arrangement that sounds similar to “Fairies Wears Boots”
The song also has some traces of Deep Purple’s “Black Night”and “Strange Kind Of Woman”
——
The lyrics also put subtle references into the lines sung by each member, making it a song that is unique to Momoclo.
Member references:
Kanako– dimples girl -> can’t smile anymore (no smile = no dimple)
Shori – loves to eat+crybaby ->cold and hungry+on the verge of crying
Arin – Overprotective mom -> A sleepless doll, stripped of freedom
Momoka – not really sure how her lines fit her…”Where is the ticket to the promised land?” might be a reference to how she was snubbed in EXPG and Power Age
Reni – Electric girl -> Power has been cut
Momoclo as a whole:
Aren’t we invincible if we firmly unite
Isn’t it great when our resolve is aligned
It’s annoying to have quarrels midway -> How they put emphasis in their bonds to each other
Don’t forget all that you’ve been through, each person you’ve met -> Their performances over the years and fans
And of course,
black weekend/shining weekend -> weekend heroines Momoclo
——
Lyrics:
Black weekend, come on REIDEEN
Black weekend, come on REIDEEN
Out of smiles today
Power has been cut
On the verge of tears
Black weekend, come on REIDEEN
Where is the ticket to the promised land?
A sleepless doll, stripped of freedom
Cold and hungry, plagued by nightmares
Fingers reaching out for that which it cannot grasp
Wanting worship More and more!
A longing desire
Curse this timing
Power unplugged (Shouting to the point of nosebleed…this is all you got!? )
Nearing total breakdown
Black weekend, come on REIDEEN!
Spit out the poison and bury it in mud
Be gone my feebleness, stay silent
Shook to the soul Tear open the closed doors
Hearing that solemn voice
Hit me hard
There is no joy in victory if you sold your soul
Let me hear your voice once more
Resound, REIDEEN
Heart turns into heart (fortitude)
Awakening with the sounding beat
A person stands before my dazzled eyes
Who is it? A god of salvation
He has chosen me
So believe and go forth together
My wishes I will never give up
Even if engulfed by darkness This I swear by my pride
Nothing is born from regret
Wallowing in self pity is meaningless
Be thankful of that which you’ve received
And give out in order to live on
I know you know The sorrows of talent
One need only pray to have love
The weather cleared up, hurray!!
Tame the fearful heart
This world is filled with negativity
Grab on to the chance to break through
Hold tightly Don’t let go
Hey come on Hello REIDEEN
Aren’t we invincible if we firmly unite
Isn’t it great when our resolve is aligned
It’s annoying to have quarrels midway
Expect the best with a straight-forward approach
A cruel merry-go-round
Spiraling tears
Is this a test to bury the flickers of evil
Spit out the poison and bury it in mud
Be gone my feebleness, forever silenced
Shook to the soul Tear open the closed doors
Hearing that solemn voice
Hit me hard
There is no joy in victory if you sold your soul
Let me hear your voice once more
Resound、REIDEEN
The selfish heart, received a blessing
Dispersed by streaking across the sky
Heart turns into heart (fortitude)
Giving meaning to the sound of each beat
Abracadabra
The twisting, turning times of struggle
Like the Ark
Has gone forth to the future
It is not all in vain
Don’t forget all that you’ve been through, each person you’ve met
Like the Ark
Hold them tightly
A shining, shimmering weekend
